Garlic Noodles Recipe
Ingredients
- Noodles (egg / hakka / instant) – 200 g
- Garlic (finely chopped) – 8–10 cloves
- Butter or oil – 2 tbsp
(butter gives best flavor) - Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
- Oyster sauce – 1 tbsp (optional but recommended)
- Chili flakes or chili oil – to taste
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Spring onions – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the noodles
- Boil noodles in salted water according to package instructions.
- Drain and keep aside.
(Reserve 2–3 tbsp of noodle water)
2. Make garlic sauce
- Heat butter/oil in a pan on low–medium heat.
- Add chopped garlic and sauté slowly until fragrant and lightly golden.
⚠️ Don’t burn the garlic.
3. Toss noodles
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili flakes, and pepper.
- Add cooked noodles and reserved noodle water.
- Toss well on high heat for 1–2 minutes.
4. Finish & serve
- Taste and adjust salt.
- Garnish with spring onions.
- Serve hot!
Optional Add-ins
- Veggies: mushrooms, capsicum, carrots, broccoli
- Protein: tofu, paneer, chicken, shrimp
- Egg: scramble one egg in the pan before garlic
Tips for Best Flavor
- Use low heat for garlic – this is key.
- Butter + a little oil prevents burning.
- Add a dash of sesame oil at the end for aroma.
